Our story

What the forest leaves behind can become something worth keeping.

Himalayan Pine Company begins with the materials and ingredients already present in the landscape.

A forest is more than its trees.

Beneath the canopy is a living world: seeds waiting to grow, insects, fungi, mosses, young plants and the organic layer that helps the soil function.

When fire moves through a forest, the effects can extend far beyond the trees. The smallest things are often the first things nobody sees.

From forest floor to everyday form.

HPCo works to create value from pine needles gathered from the forest floor. Collection, material preparation and making give the needles a route into useful everyday objects.

People make the rest happen. Gathering, sorting, processing, making and packing all take work and care.

The material behind the idea

Fallen pine needles are one starting point for Himalayan Pine Company. The collection also follows ingredients such as rhododendron, seabuckthorn and nettle into everyday food and objects.

Material documentation

Material research connected with Vasshin Composites LLP includes Indian Patent No. 390013, granted on 22 February 2022, for “Pine Needle Granules, Process for Synthesis and Applications Thereof.” A Eurofins test report dated 17 July 2020 describes a particular cutlery sample. These documents relate to the stated process and sample; product-specific claims should be checked against each item’s documentation.
